BIR HEAD OFFICE–The Bureau of Internal Revenue launched its BIR-DBP PaytaxOnline in partnership with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on Thursday, October 19, 2017. The ceremony was led by the BIR Commissioner Caesar R. Dulay together with the DBP President Cecilia C. Borromeo, DBP Chairman Hon. Alberto G. Romulo, and USAID’s Mission Director Lawrence Hardy II.
The new payment channel enables our individual taxpayers and commercial businesses to achieve a convenient way of paying their taxes online,using any debit or ATM card issued by Bancnetcard and VISA or Master Card credit. For Bancnet, each transaction comes with a fixed fee of 35.00php. While per transaction using Master Card costs 35.00php + 2% of the total tax amount paid.
Apart from the BIR’s main objective to collect revenues, Commissioner Ceasar Dulay explained that the launching of the BIR-DBP Paytax Online is in pursuance to make it easy for taxpayers to do business, which is part of the 10-Point Socio-Economic Agenda of the government.
The DOF undersecretary in revenue operations group and corporate affairs Antonette Tionko also stated that the partnership between the BIR and the DBP is a welcome development to make tax administration more effective to the government and tax payment easier for the taxpayers.
Part of the launching ceremony is the live payment demo using the BIR-DBP Paytax Online facility. In just a few steps, taxpayers can now pay their taxes online in a highly secure and easy to use portal.
First, go to dbppaytax.com. Second, Input the required information such as TIN, Revenue District Office, Form number and Tax Type. Third, proceed to online tax payment to complete the transaction. For additional security, the taxpayer will be asked to provide 2 One Time Password (OTP), which will be sent to the mobile number provided.
DBP Chairman Alberto Romulo also highlighted that there will no longer be a reason to be unable to pay taxes as the new facility is accessible24 hours a day, 7 daysa week and emphasized that the new online facility accepts payments in all banks.
“This is only a beginning of the positive change in tax administration,”said Mission Director Lawrence HardyII. He also believes that tax compliance in the country will increase and financial transactions will be more transparent through BIR-DBP Paytax Online.
